This is because it originally stood for Cal, Larn, Espee, and Ganon, the original names for Bal, Laser, Espee, and Canon in early drafts of Smelly Space.
- Bal was originally intended to be a long-lasting member, but was killed off because Syp The Mighty found it funnier to kill off a main character immediately.
- Naut and Ozo were introduced because Syp wanted to have Pink and Blue as core colors of the group in addition to Orange, Green/Yellow, Red, and Purple.
