- The name of the CLEG crew comes from the acronym for its main four members: Canon, Laser, Espee, and Gexus, though Gexus wasn't introduced until its second episode. This is because it originally stood for Cal, Larn, Espee, and Ganon, the original names for Bal, Laser, Espee, and Canon in early drafts of Smelly Space.
- Bal was originally intended to be a long-lasting member, but was killed off because Syp The Mighty found it funnier to kill off a main character immediately.
