- He is voiced by series creator Syp The Mighty in CLEG: The Video Series.
- Bal was supposed to remain a main character when Smelly Space was first made. This was changed while Syp was working on Explosive Delivery, deeming it funnier if he died right away.
- A creature with the same colors as Bal appears in Micro Space, named Pal.
